Bachelor of Information Technology

B.I.T. or Bachelor of Information Technology is an undergraduate Information Technology course. The degree course is awarded after successfully completing a three years program in the study, design, development, implementation, support or management of information systems with the use of software applications and computer hardware to convert, store, protect, process, transmit, and securely retrieve information. The degree is a comprehensive course that involves the study of computing technology, covering everything from installing applications to designing complex computer networks and information databases. The course includes the study of software development, software testing, software engineering, computer networking, web design, databases, programming, etc.

Bachelor of Information Technology Eligibility
  • The students should have passed 10+2 or equivalent examination in Science stream with Maths, Physics and Chemistry as subjects studied and with a minimum of 50% marks secured in Maths and/or in aggregate from a recognized board of the country.
  • Some reputed colleges and institutes also conduct entrance examinations to get admission to the course. Selection to the degree course in these colleges is based on marks secured in the final merit i.e. total marks aggregated in the final exams of 10+2 and the entrance exam.

  • Candidates also have good communication skills and the ability to understand a wide range of perspectives.
  • They should have a solid understanding of mathematical concepts and a high degree of skill in data manipulation and multiple-step logic is required. Detail orientation and mental focus are other necessary skills for the course.
  • Those who want to have a Master’s Degree and then further research work are also suitable for the course.
